Goodbye summer Hello school!

So many things have happened this summer. We are so excited to be back in school. McKaylan has weathered the worst with pneumonia and surgery. She is a trooper! We just got the great news that we have been approved by LDS Family Services for adopting again. Let those little spirits find our family because we need them! The boys are growing so fast and my arms are missing that little baby feel.

Clint has also returned to school. I love being home with the boys all day. It is so fun with them. Still working on the house and getting the small stuff done like paint and trim, but it is coming together. I can't wait for it to be done.

His smile is different!

This last week has been stressful, but awesome. Braden had eye surgery. He had his blind eye removed and a prosthetic put in its place. He did so good during the surgery, but had a hard time waking up. All he could do was sleep or throw up. This experience, I believe, triggered anxiety from other hospitalizations. With the sounds, smells and environment and just feeling plain yucky, there has been a lot of extra emotional issues that he has had to deal with. The only difference this time was he had a mommy to love and hold him and and rock him. He has become even more attached to me and Clint this last week. Yes he has regressed in some behaviors, but that is to be expected. But his smile is different, more content and happy. He looks at us with absolute adoration. It is so awesome!

Hello, Goodbye and Say WHAT???

So, we moved into our ward last September and met our bishop. One month later he was released. This last Sunday was him and his wife's last Sunday because they are moving. His wife came to me and asked how the boys were doing. Then she said I have something to tell you. I am only telling you this because this is my last Sunday. She then proceeded to tell me that her brother and sister-in-law were the previous couple that had the failed adoption with the boys. She said that her sister-in-law was devastated and had started obsessing over where the boys were. The lady in my ward did provide comfort to her and told her the boys were together and in a good home, but didn't give out names. I was shocked. This is only a portion of our long conversation. Needless to say she did tell me that she has been watching me and my family and knows the boys are safe and with a good family. She said we were doing a great job with them and now the other mother knows it. I tell you. All Mormons in Utah are related!!!

The first official week

This week has been incredible!!! I thought I loved these boys before the adoption, but knowing they are mine makes my love for them multiply infinitely. The power of adoption is amazing and I am so thankful for this wonderful blessing I have been given. Okay enough of the cheese.

It has been so long since I have posted anything, but now that school is done I will have more time on my hands, maybe. With twins my time disappears quick. But I hope to keep more up to date.

We had some fun awesome times with the boys this week and it will on get more fun. Braden hates any food except his bottle. I feel like we have gone 5 steps back when it comes to solids. He used to at least try a bite, but now he is very opinionated about what he wants to eat. Aiden on the other hand will eat just about anything, although we are finding that he does not appreciate green beans, but who does.

McKaylan is loving being an official, legal and soon eternal big sister. She is an amazing help. She loves to get on the floor and roll around with the boys, rock them in the chair, and help feed them their bottles. She sings to them and tells them stories and they both adore her and will seek her out to play and have fun with. Having kids (plural is awesome) is the most amazing thing in this world. I love my family!!!
